Affiliate Disclosure
USD2CAD.ca is monetised through affiliate partnerships. When you click certain links on this site and sign up for a partner's service (open a Wise account, apply for a credit card, fund a brokerage account), we may receive a commission. There is no additional cost to you — the partner pays us out of their own customer-acquisition budget.
Why we disclose this
Canadian law and the FTC's guidelines for online endorsements both require clear, conspicuous disclosure of material connections between content publishers and advertisers. We agree with the principle. You should know how a website pays its bills before you decide how much weight to give its recommendations.
Partner programs we participate in
- Wise via the Partnerize affiliate network (camref : 1011l5hy9t). We earn a commission when a new customer opens a Wise account through our link and funds it. Cookie attribution : no expiry.
- Other partnerships : we are in the process of joining several Canadian financial affiliate programs (Knightsbridge FX, OFX, Questrade, Wealthsimple, American Express Canada). When these are approved, the affiliate links on our card-review and currency-exchange pages will become active. Until then, those links point directly to the partner's homepage without tracking.
How affiliate links work in practice
When you click an affiliate link on our site :
- Your browser is redirected through the affiliate network's tracking URL (e.g., wise.prf.hn for Wise via Partnerize).
- The network sets a cookie on the partner's domain identifying us as the referring publisher.
- You land on the partner's regular signup page.
- If you complete a qualifying action within the cookie window (open an account, fund it, get approved), the partner credits us a commission.
We never see your personal information, account details, or transaction amounts. We see only an anonymised conversion event.
Editorial independence — our hard rules
- Our rankings and comparisons reflect the math and the verified facts. We list cards and providers in the order we believe serves the reader, regardless of whether we earn a commission from them.
- Products we do not earn commission from (such as Home Trust Preferred Visa, EQ Bank Card, or RBC USD accounts) are listed where they belong on the merit-based ranking.
- We will not recommend a product solely because it pays a high commission. Cards with bad terms that pay well are flagged or omitted.
- Negative facts about partners are not removed or softened. For example, our Wise reviews are honest about its cost on amounts above $20,000 USD (where Norbert's Gambit beats it cleanly), even though we earn commission on Wise sign-ups.
- Sponsored placements, when they exist, are labelled Sponsored in the article header. Affiliate links are labelled Affiliate link or marked with the standard
rel="nofollow sponsored" attribute.
How to identify affiliate links on this site
Affiliate links carry the HTML attribute rel="nofollow sponsored". You can hover over any link on our site to see where it leads : affiliate links route through wise.prf.hn, impact.com, cj.com or similar tracking domains. Direct links (no tracking) go straight to the partner's primary domain (e.g., wise.com with no camref query parameter).
If you'd rather not use our affiliate links
You are free to search for the partner directly (e.g., type "Wise Canada" in Google) and skip our links entirely. The content of the article remains exactly the same either way. We never gate information behind affiliate clicks.
